Donnie Bolden Jr.

DONNIE BOLDEN JR. was born and raised in Abbeville, Louisiana to the Rev. Donnie Bolden, Sr. and the late Prophetess Anna Bolden. Donnie was raised at Lighthouse for Jesus Ministries (LHFJ) in Abbeville, Louisiana which is the church pastored by his parents.

Since he was a young child, Donnie has always had a love for playing music and singing. At the age of 8, Donnie wrote his first song titled "Jesus Is The Light Of My Life." Since that time, Donnie has written multiple songs in which he has sang and produced.

 

Donnie started his professional career with a group called Sons of Thunder which led to the release of two cd's titled "Heaven's Waiting" and "Completely Yours." The releases afforded the group to sign with WEA Distribution and Light Year. Through this endeavor, they were able to record a video "His Name Is Jesus" which aired on Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T.) and Gospel Grooves. During his time with Sons of Thunder, Donnie toured different states not limited to Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, and even the Bahamas.

Donnie recently realized that he also loved acting and has to date, been an actor in 4 professional stage plays.  When he is not acting or writing songs, Donnie is sharpening his skills on the bass guitar  and  the piano.  Donnie still attends LHFJ and

 

MUSIC & EVENTS

is the current Musical Director and Praise Leader. Donnie will tell anyone and everyone that his greatest desire is to bring God's Word through the music that he plays and sings.

Donnie has been married to Cheryl Bolden for over 20 years and has been blessed with 5 wonderful children.
